Disney launches Disney Princess virtual world
Disney has launched Sofia’s World, a virtual world based on its Sofia the First animated series.
Available to UK-based fans of the show, Sofia’s World follows the launch by Disney of Jakes World, based on the Jake and the Never Land Pirates animated show. Disney also owns the popular Club Penguin, having bought it in 2007.
Aimed at 2 to 7 year-olds, Sofia’s World allows kids to interact with Sofia and create their own princess in training avatar, play games, explore and customise rooms within the world and earn rewards.
Parents will be encourages earn bonus content for their kids by connecting to Disney Junior on Facebook.
Sofia the First is an animated series about a seven year old, Ariel, who becomes princess of an enchanted kingdom. The latest series, Sofia the first: The Amulet and the Anthem, launches on Disney Junior in the UK on October 7.
