Lifetime, A&E, History join for Bonnie & Clyde simulcast

The A&E, History and Lifetime US cable channels will join forces to simulcast two-part original drama Bonnie & Clyde.

All three of the A+E Networks channels will show the series, in two-hour instalments over two nights, starting Sunday, December 8.

History has made a hugely successful push into scripted with Hatfield & McCoys, The Bible and Vikings while Lifetime is considered the home of TV movies in the US. A&E, meanwhile, has had scripted series including The Glades, Longmire and Bates Motel.

Bonnie & Clyde will be the latest adaptation of the story of the American outlaw couple who were notorious in 1930s America and will be produced by Sony Pictures Television.

The best known retelling of their story is the 1967 movie starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. There was also a 1992 TV movie Bonnie & Clyde: The True Story.

Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) and Holliday Grainger (The Borgias) are the leads in the new miniseries and Holly Hunter (The Piano) and William Hurt (Too Big to Fail) also star.
