MY Tupelo to rep Israeli formats in US
US indie MY Tupelo Entertainment has entered into a strategic partnership with Israel’s Tanin Productions to bring the latter’s formats Stateside.
The first formats to benefit from the alliance are Money Bus, Meal or No Meal, Go to Hell and Money Moon, which MY Tupelo will exclusively represent in the US.
Tanin launched in 2001 and is best know as producer of reality gameshow format UPGRADE and The Money Pump, which is sold internationally by Dori Media and being produced as a pilot in the US for CBS by ITV Studios America.
MY Tupelo is a joint venture between Michael Yudin’s MY Entertainment and sports/entertainment prodco Tupelo-Honey Raycom.
“MY Tupelo believes that working with talented, like-minded producers — such as [Tannin CEO] Gili Golan — to create original content for the international market brings new value to rights holders,” said Yudin (above, left). “I believe the combination of Gili’s creative instincts and our strong relationships with US buyers and knowledge of the American viewer will be a powerful one.”
Yudin added his company was “actively pursuing” creative ventures in “several emerging format powerhouses”.
“MY Tupelo’s reputation, not just with the US networks but also within the advertising community, puts it in an exceptionally strong position and was one of the many reasons we decided to enter into this partnership,” said Golan (right).
“As digital channels continue to grow while production budgets shrink, finding new and innovative ways to bring quality content to the screen has become an imperative.”
