Persson identified for Turner promotion
Turner Broadcasting System has promoted kids TV coproductions exec Cecilia Persson to a new international role.
Persson was previously VP, acquisitions and coproductions, EMEA, but has been handed an expanded role of VP, acquisitions and coproductions, kids, EMEA and international.
The new job will see her working with local programming acquisitions channel and content heads within EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
She will report to Patricia Hidalgo, chief content and creative officer, EMEA; Pablo Zuccarino, VP and channel manager, Cartoon Network in Latin America; and Mark Eyers, chief content officer, Asia Pacific.
Hidalgo, who joined Turner earlier this year from Disney to replace the HIT Entertainment-bound Michael Carrington, said: “This important appointment signifies our aim to unify and align our international kids business acquisitions.
“The three regions – EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific – are now working together to source the very best creative and content from across the world as part of our commitment to delivering the best entertainment experiences for young audiences.”
