Saban and Nickelodeon extend Power Rangers deal
Saban Brands and kids network Nickelodeon have extended their deal for the Power Rangers TV series.
Saban bought back the Japanese-inspired live-action series and relaunched new series Power Rangers Samurai on Nick in 2011. The new agreement means Nick will take fresh episodes of the series through to 2016.
US-based distributor MarVista sells the new Power Rangers series internationally and Bandai is the toy partner. Saban said Bandai will continue to be the global master toy licensee for all new series.
“Our partnership with Nickelodeon has been instrumental in maintaining the popularity of the Power Rangers brand and introducing the series to a new generation of kids,” said Elie Dekel, president of Saban Brands.
