Sean O’Kelly resurfaces at MIPCOM-bound Carnaby
Stealth Media Group founder Sean O’Kelly has been appointed to run a new UK-based international film and TV distribution outfit that’s headed to the Croisette.
O’Kelly will head up Carnaby Film Distribution and Carnaby Film Sales, both of which will operate as divisions of UK film firm Carnaby International, as CEO.
CFS will be an “all rights rights film and television distribution company” that launches between six and eight films a year, while CF will focus on sales of Carnaby-owned productions and third party content. The latter firm will be in Cannes with a library of Carnaby titles.
O’Kelly, who left Stealth earlier this summer, said: “There’s been a sizeable shift in the UK marketplace since eOne and Alliance joined forces as well as the recent demise of Revolver. This has left a void – especially for local independent filmmakers who are struggling to find a home for their films. This is where we come in.”
