Comedy Central poaches BBC exec for programming role
Comedy Central has recruited Louise Holmes as VP, programming.
Holmes will join the UK version of the Viacom channel at the end of November and joins from UK public broadcaster the BBC where she was head of marketing for BBC Two, Three and Four.
In her new role Holmes will oversee programming, scheduling and research at Comedy Central UK and the local versions of the channel in Hungary, Russia, Romania, Israel, Australia and New Zealand, for which the UK office is responsible.
She will report to Jill Offman, managing director of Comedy Central UK and senior VP, international content at the channel.
Offman said: “I am thrilled that Louise is joining us as vice president, programming. The breadth of knowledge and experience she has gained throughout her TV career to date will be invaluable as we continue to grow Comedy Central.”
Prior to her marketing position at the BBC Holmes was at Discovery Italy where she was channel director.
