BBC America orders original drama Intruders
BBC America has ordered a new original drama series, titled Intruders.
Based on the Michael Marshall Smith novel of the same name, the eight-part one-hour series follows a a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others.
Jane Tranter’s West Coast-based BBC Worldwide Productions division will make the series for the BBC Worldwide-owned US cable net.
Production starts on next Spring and the series will be sold internationally by BBCWW’s programme sales team.
Perry Simon, general manager, BBC America, said: “Intruders features an imaginative premise that fits perfectly with BBC AMERICA’s signature block of complex and otherworldly dramas led by Doctor Who and Orphan Black.”
