Former rock music manager Sherman takes reins at lifestyle network Veria
Eric Sherman, the former manager of Aerosmith front man and American Idol judge Steven Tyler, has taken the CEO role at lifestyle cable net Veria Living.
The channel is focussed on Eastern health and wellbeing practices and is backed by Indian media giant Zee. As CEO Sherman will oversee its expansion across TV and online platforms.
Before a three-year stint managing Tyler, Sherman has worked at various US cable channels.
He oversaw the repositioning of Fuse and has also been general manager of Viacom music channels VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul, VH1 Country, MTV Espanol, MTV Puerto Rico and Palladia.
Speaking about his new role Sherman said: “I spent the past several years dedicated to helping to build one of the most successful brands in rock, commuting from New York to Los Angeles weekly and traveling the globe. To keep up with the wear and tear of the business, it was essential to place a renewed emphasis on my personal health and wellness. Eating and living well have been a lifelong passion, and I look forward to working with Veria to help our growing audience do the same.”
Zee chairman Subhash Chandra added: “Eric’s experience launching and growing television and digital media brands is unquestioned, but it is his passion for his work, and his clear understanding of how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle and maintain a work/life balance, that makes him the ideal person to take on this role at Veria Living.”
