Power casting progresses, 50 Cent expected to take cameo role
Starz has added new cast members to its upcoming urban drama Power.
Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (left) is executive producing and talks are underway about the musician and actor making a cameo appearance in the series.
The premium cable network said yesterday that Lela Loren (Gang Related), Naturi Naughton (Mad Men) and Jospeh Sikora (Shutter Island) will all star in the drama series, which was created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife).
Loren will play an old flame of the lead character, drug dealer and nightclub owner James “Ghost” St. Patrick, played by Omari Hardwick (Kick Ass). Naughton will play St. Patrick’s wife and Sikora a business partner and childhood friend.
Meanwhile, the producers are keen that Jackson makes some form of appearance in front of the camera, likely a cameo role. “There have been talks about a cameo role,” a source told TBI. “50 is an enormous resource. It’d be silly not to find a way to integrate him in the show.”
