Zodiak’s Yellow Bird, Chernin adapting thriller novel for TV
Yellow Bird Entertainment, the Swedish drama firm behind The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Chernin Entertainment have partnered to adapt an upcoming spy thriller novel for television.
The Swede is a novel from army helicopter pilot Robert Kariel about a Swedish secret service agent who is drawn into a complex and mysterious investigation after being summoned to the US to interrogate one of his countrymen being held prisoner.
The novel (aka De Redan Döda) has been picking up traction in literary industry circles, leading Zodiak Media-owned Yellow Bird and former News Corp. boss Peter Chernin’s (left) media production company to brokered a deal through United Talent Agency to develop a TV adaption. 20th Century Fox Television is also attached to the project.
Yellow Bird is behind the film adaptions of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and produced noir crime drama Wallander, while Chernin Entertainment has produced feature films and is attached to another upcoming Fox televisions series, Hieroglyph.
