News brief: MTV music nets to launch on Foxtel

Viacom International Media Networks-operated thematic channels MTV Music and MTV Dance are launching on Australia pay TV platform Foxtel.

The channels will both launch on December 3, with MTV Music being a localised version of the UK network of the same name and MTV Dance exclusively featuring electronic and urban music genres.

They will replace MTV Hits and MTV Classic, which will remain in Australia and New Zealand on the Fetch IPTV service and SkyTV platform, respectively.
