HBO, Discovery, SBS deals for eOne dramas
Indie studio Entertainment One has sold a batch of scripted series including Discovery drama Klondike to broadcasters such as HBO Nordic and SBS in the Netherlands.
Klondike, the 6x60mins miniseries set in the US’s gold rush period, has been picked up by Discovery for its networks in Latin America, Asia Pacific and Central Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Elsewhere, Dutch channel operator SBS is one three broadcasters to buy Dates, the romantic drama from Skins creator Bryan Elsley for Channel 4. The other buyers are Globosat in Brazil and Canal+ for pay TV in Spain.
HBO Nordic has napped up pay TV and SVOD rights to eOne’s supernatural thriller Bitten, and SVOD rights for seasons 1-3 of The Walking Dead, and seasons 1-2 of Hell on Wheels and The Firm.
eOne has also sold Saving Hope to Turner Broadcasting System in Sweden, Norway and Denmark for pay TV; UKTV in the UK; and RTL for German pay TV and ProSiebenSat.1 for free TV; Turkish pay TV platform D-Smart; and Zon in Portugal.
TVA Groupe in France has secured free, pay and web streaming rights to crime series The Devil You Know, plus TV movies such as Horses of McBride, It’s Christmas Carol and The Carpenter’s Miracle.
Other deals see RTL2 in Germany buying free TV rights to season four of The Walking Dead, Perfect Storms to National Geographic Channel International in Asia, Dangerous Persuasions to Network18 in India and RTL in Germany, and Winter Wonderland to France’s M6.
