Ex-Target sales boss lands NBCU formats role
Former Target Entertainment head of sales Hannah Worrall has joined NBCUniversal’s international formats team, TBI has learned.
Worrall has landed the new role of VP, format sales at NBCU International Production, the Comcast-owned company confirmed this morning. She will report to NBCUI’s senior VP, formats and production Yvonne Pilkington, who recently returned from maternity leave.
Worrall is charged with expanding NBCUI’s formats sales, merchandise and production revenues.
Though not the same role, NBCU formerly employed Charlotte Raben as VP, format sales at NBCUIP. She left to join Warner Bros. International Television Production in July last year.
Worrall was previously Target’s sales boss before the company went into administration in 2011. She went on consult for Twofour before going on maternity leave and then landing the NBCU gig in the third quarter of this year.
She was also head of format sales at Television Corporation International between 2003 and 2005, where she sold formats including Traffic Cops and Britain’s Worst Driver across Europe, the Middle East, New Zealand, South Africa and North America.
“NBCU’s formats [division] has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past two years and in Hannah we have found an extremely accomplished and experienced executive who can help us take our business to the next level. We are thrilled to have her on board,” said Pilkington.
NBCUI’s format slate includes shows such as Real Housewives…, Top Chef, Still Standing (pictured) and Dance Your Ass Off. The formats unit is also developing detective series Monk in several territories and has sold remakes of Law & Order into the UK, France and Russia.
