FremantleMedia seals new X Factor deals
The X Factor has been renewed by several key free-to-air broadcasters and the show’s distributor, FremantleMedia, has sealed deals for four more local versions of the music competition series.
New deals for The X Factor include a recommission from Seven Network for the Australian version of the show. DR1 (Denmark), TVN (Poland), Channel One (Russia) and TV3 (Lithuania) have also all reordered their local versions.
FremantleMedia has also cut new deals. In Vietnam VTV3 has greenlit a local version as have OTV in Japan, Pink in Serbia and ATV in Azerbaijan.
The news follows the recent recommission – for a further three seasons – of the show in the UK on commercial broadcaster ITV. There are now versions of the show produced in 45 international territories.
Diana Buddingh, director of Global Entertainment Production for FremantleMedia said: “The spectacular continued success of The X Factor further strengthens the brand’s position as one of the leading entertainment formats in the world. We are immensely proud of the format’s persistent achievements and look forward to working alongside Syco as we enter into new markets, gain re-commissions and top ratings.”
