NRK buys BBC period drama
Norwegian public broadcaster NRK has acquired BBC period drama Death Comes to Pemberley.
The broadcaster plans to run the upcoming three-part series, which is based on a novel by crime writer PD James and is set tin the same world as Pride and Prejudice.
NRK revealed the acquisition in its Christmas programming line-up, which was unveiled today. It is understood the show will debut in the UK on BBC One this month, though the BBC is not unveiling its official Christmas schedule until tomorrow.
BBC drama boss Ben Stephenson and BBC director of television Danny Cohen greenlit the 3x60mins series earlier this year. Origin Pictures is producing the show in Yorkshire, UK, with investment from Screen Yorkshire and the BBC.
