Viacom picks Nitz from Red Bull Media House
Viacom International Media Networks has recruited Oliver Nitz to run its mobile branding division.
Nitz joins from Austria-based Red Bull Media House and will be senior VP, mobile brand licensing at Viacom.
In the new role he will be tasked with building VIMN’s presence in the mobile space and, based in Berlin, he will oversee teams in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland, Romania and Hungary.
Nitz will report into Bob Bakish, VIMN’s president and CEO and Willem Schelling, COO and interim MD for VIMN Northern Europe.
Viacom’s mobile division works with operators to provide an MTV-branded mobile phone experience to subscribers, including exclusive access to MTV content.
The mobile offerings also include social features such as the MTV Under The Thumb (UTT) app, which allows users to watch MTV’s premium content on-demand or turn their phone into a fully functional MTV remote control on a computer or internet-enabled TV.
MTV Mobile is currently available throughout Europe and partnerships are in place with T-Mobile in the Netherlands and Romania, E-Plus in Germany and Sunrise in Switzerland.
