DCD sells Aussie dramas to Sky, C5 and Hulu
UK-based distributor DCD Rights agreed US and UK deals for two of its Australian dramas.
In the US, online platform Hulu has bought comedy series A Moody Christmas.
The 6x30mins show, about the dysfunctional Moody family, went out on pubcaster the ABC in Australia and has also been acquired by UK pay TV channel Sky Living.
A second series will be produced next year and DCD will again be on international sales duty.
In the UK, free-to-air broadcaster Channel 5 has bought drama series Mr & Mrs Murder (pictured). It will put the 13x60mins series out in 2014. It is produced by FremantleMedia Australia and Bravado Productions and follows a crime scene cleaning couple.
DCD is one of the most active of the international distributors in terms of picking up Australian scripted content with rights to eight series in all and some TV movies. It also sells The Slap, The Straits, Rake, An Accidental Soldier and The Strange Calls.
