Conrad stepping back at Shine prodco Princess

Princess Productions CEO Henrietta Conrad is stepping back into a chairman role 17 years after founding the Shine Group-owned factual entertainment producer.

Conrad will focus on Princess’s overall strategy after handing the day-to-day running of the firm to finance director Conor Baily and director of talent Emma Hardy, who will now be joint managing directors.

Furthermore, creative director and former Sky commissioner Duncan Gray is moving to a group-wide role working with different Shine companies on the creation and development of unscripted formats, while remaining executive producer on Princess shows such as Sky1’s Got to Dance.

Once the changes come into effect in 2014, Princess will seek to bolster its executive team with new hires.

Conrad is also relinquishing her chief exec role at Princess sister company Shine TV, which recently handed Kelly Webb-Lamb the MD role, and take another chairman role.

“The changes at Princess allow for continuity, individual development, reinvigoration and redefinition of the company, which we have done successfully many times over the last 17 years,” said Conrad. “At Shine TV Kelly is firmly established in running the company, and my role change to Chairman reflects this.”

The changes are latest in a period of change at Shine, which last year saw founder Elisabeth Murdoch step back from her CEO role and hand the baton to her deputy, Alex Mahon, after the super indie was acquired by Rupert Murodch’s 21^st Century Fox (then News Corp.).

Princess produces shows including Got to Dance, Something for the Weekend, The Wright Stuff, Johnny & Inel, The Face (pictured) and Sing Date. It joined the Shine stable in 2007.
