Animal Planet profiles Preposterous Pets in 200 territories

Discovery Networks International has commissioned Preposterous Pets, a warm factual series about owners about people that own inappropriate animals.

DNI-owned Animal Planet will broadcast the 6x60mins show in the 200 territories it operates in, with UK indie Barcroft Productions producing the show.

DNI is billing the doc series as an introduction to “the world’s most outrageous pets – and their owners, often as outlandish and eccentric as the animals they keep”.

Helen Hawken, commissioner for animal content at DNI commissioned it, and Sam Barcroft and DNI’s Jon Sechrist are executive producing.

“We share the same passion for documenting the amazing side of life and we’re certain the incredible stories featured in Preposterous Pets will be a big hit with Animal Planet viewers worldwide.”
