Germany’s SET shops at Selfridges
German pay TV broadcaster Sony Entertainment Television has acquired both seasons of ITV Studios’ period drama Mr Selfridge.
The deal means ITV Studios Global Entertainment has sold the show into more than 150 territories. The second season recently launched to a 22% and 6.8 million consolidated viewers in the UK on ITV.
ITVSGE has also sold drama Rectify to Arte in Germany and Spain. Sundance Channel in France and Sky Deutschland in Germany have already premiered the series and a second season is to launch in the US on Sundance Channel in the summer.
Tobias de Graaff, director of global television distribution, ITVSGE, said: “Free and pay TV audiences are increasingly keen to watch world-class drama that unfolds over an entire series rather than an episode.
