Pioneer Productions staffs up
Pioneer Productions has hired two senior production executives.
The Tinopolis-owned factual producer has recruited former Channel 4 commissioner Nav Raman as its new director of development and poached from the BBC as an executive producer. Barnes is tasked with growing Pioneer’s UK output.
Raman joins from Jane Root’s prodco Nutopia and before that was a commissioner at Channel 4. She has worked on programmes including She’s Having a Baby and Siege in the Sahara and Supernanny.
Both will report to Alisa Orr (pictured), who joined Pioneer from the BBC last year and is the UK-based company’s creative director.
Orr said the hires round out Pioneer’s creative team: “We need to focus our growth in the wider factual area. The last three months for me have been about cherry-picking the best talent available and aligning that with the company’s new creative ambitions.”
