UKTV ups Watsham after Rogerson exit
British multi-channel broadcaster UKTV has promoted Richard Watsham to become director of commissioning following former incumbent Jane Rogerson’s exit.
Watsham takes responsibility for UKTV’s slate of original programmes, effective immediately, after being promoted from senior commissioning editor.
He has worked at UKTV since 2011 and is credited with series such as Watch’s Dynamo: Magician Impossible, The Happenings and The Incredible Mr. Goodwin.
Watsham has held the role in an interim capacity since October last year, replacing Rogerson, who stepped back to go on sick leave and is now leaving the business.
In the new role, Watsham will report directly to UKTV CEO Darren Childs, who said: “The director of commissioning’s role is central to this business’ ongoing success and Richard Watsham’s confidence and creative leadership, coupled with fantastic ambition, will make sure we stay on the front foot creatively during this great period of share growth for UKTV.”
UKTV’s bouquet of channels include Watch, Dave, Gold, Alibi, Eden, Yesterday, Drama, Really, Home and Good Food.
