MIPTV 2014: My Tupelo and TVF bring Bargain Brides to Cannes
US producer My Tupelo has struck a development deal with TVF International and the first fruits of that effort, Bargain Brides, will launch at MIPTV.
The format follows brides-to-be as they barter, negotiate and haggle for the wedding of their dreams at knock-down prices.
Yael Shaoulian, programming and acquisitions executive at TVF International said: “We are really looking forward to using our international expertise to steer dynamic new US projects from their very early stages of development.”
My Tupelo said it is forging an international strategy that will involve it agreeing deals with partners around the world. It already has content agreements with Nordic World and Turkey’s Global Agency.
The TVF deal follows My Entertainment Company founder Michael Yudin acquiring the chunk of My Tupelo that Raycom Media picked up in 2009. My Tupelo was formed after My Entertainment Company and Tupelo-Honey Productions merged.
My Tupelo said it is forging an international strategy that will involve it agreeing deals with partners in the UK, the Nordics, Israel, Spain and Turkey.
