Shine builds digital sales unit with Kerry Ball hire
Shine Group’s sales wing has hired Kerry Ball to lead its digital business development efforts.
Ball takes up the new role of senior, VP, digital business development and joins from Stingray Digital, where she was VP, Europe for the Canada-based new media group. Before that she was VP, international new media at NBCUniversal.
At Shine, she will lead strategy for digital sales and manage day-to-day digital and home entertainment platform sales for Shine International shows, which include MasterChef, The Tunnel and The Hour.
To this point Gordon Synn has been handling digital business development strategy on a consultancy basis and will complete a handover to ball before exiting.
He is credited with selling The Hour to Amazon, signing multi-title agreements with Netflix, scoring a library deal with Hulu and an output deal with China’s Youku Tudou.
Starting in mid-April and based in Shine International’s London headquarters, Ball will report to Shine International CEO Nadine Nohr.
“Digital is a key area for ourselves and our industry,” said Nohr. “Gordon has helped us establish a strong foundation in this area and been a brilliant collaborator; we are very appreciative of all his insights and help, both to date and in ensuring a seamless transition. Kerry joins us with expertise drawn from both start up and studio roles.”
