Amazon buys Batman series from Warner Bros.

Amazon has picked up UK rights to animated series Beware the Batman.

Its UK Prime Instant Video streaming service (fka Lovefilm) will exclusively carry the 26-part CGI show ahead of any other streaming service or traditional broadcaster.

Amazon said the deal was a milestone for the company, giving it exclusive rights to a show targeting young adults.

“This milestone deal signals an exciting time in the growth of our exclusive content offering” said Tim Leslie, VP of Amazon Instant Video EU. “We’re passionate about investing in the very best shows for our customers of all ages.”

Amazon has licensed the Warner Bros. Animation series from Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
