Sony’s AXN buys Fox’s new 24 series
Sony Pictures Television has acquired 24: Live Another Day for its AXN channel in southeast Asia.
The general entertainment channel will transmit the series with 24 hours of its airing on US broadcast net Fox and the first episode will go out on May 6 in a 10pm slot.
24: Live Another Day is produced by Howard Gordon’s (Homeland) Teakwood Lane Productions, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Imagine Television.
It has Kiefer Sutherland reprising his role as secret agent Jack Bauer in the new series, which is set and shot in London. The series is distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.
“We are proud that AXN remains the English general entertainment channel of choice and continue to build on its success,” said Hui Keng Ang, senior VP and general manager, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television. “24: Live Another Day is as big a TV show as it gets.”
