Morgan Spurlock prodco cuts Associated Press deal
Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock’s production company Warrior Poets has agreed a development deal with news agency The Associated Press.
The agreement gives Spurlock’s prodco unlimited access to AP’s broadcast, digital and mobile footage, which it will use to develop new scripted and unscripted programmes for TV and digital platforms.
“As filmmakers and TV producers, the opportunity to gain access to AP’s impressive portfolio of material is an unbelievable resource. This agreement will allow us to cultivate a multitude of exciting new projects based on AP’s countless fascinating news stories,” said Spurlock.
“Warrior Poets recognises the value of AP’s accurate, independent and global text, photo and video news reports,” said Michael Dutton, global director of entertainment products at AP. “We are pleased that their experienced and creative team will be developing original digital and broadcast programming around AP’s editorial content.”
Warrior Poets’ film credits include One Direction: This Is Us, Mansome and Where in the World is Osama bin Laden? For TV it has made CNN series Morgan Spurlock Inside Man and FX’s 30 Days.
