FilmBox buys Endemol scripted show
The FilmBox movie channels have acquired a package of drama programming from Endemol Worldwide Distribution.
The package includes UK-produced period gang drama Peaky Blinders (pictured) as well as several Australian series including romantic comedy drama A Place to Call Home.
Other Australian titles include Screentime-produced legal drama Janet King, which aired on the ABC, and Endemol Australia-produced teen drama Puberty Blues, which went out on Network Ten.
FilmBox has been an active buyer of Australian drama, having recently acquired titles including DCD Rights-distributed Mr & Mrs Murder.
“What we have recently acquired from Endemol can be described as a very solid package of well-produced daytime and also primetime content, which we are excited to show on our numerous FilmBox movie channels in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria,” said Berk Uziyel, executive director of Filmbox International.
FilmBox is run by film and TV distributor SPI International.
