Whoopi Goldberg making reality series about her daughter

Whoopi Goldberg’s One Ho Productions and US indie 44 Blue Productions are teaming to make a reality series about Goldberg’s daughter Alex Martin and her family.

The show, which has no broadcaster yet attached, will follow Martin as her eldest daughter moves back into the family home with her fiancé and new baby. She is supported by her husband and her best friend Leisa Weaver, daughter of veteran US actor Lee Weaver.

Goldberg said: “Alex and Leisa have been friends since they were 17 and are both children of famous people, and are now approaching 40. My daughter just became a grandmother and her daughter just turned 24 and they are just trying to figure their lives out. This is really the story of an all-American family for a new generation; it looks a little different than the storybooks, but it’s filled with love and laughter.

44 Blue makes cable series including Wahlburgers and Pit Bulls and Parolees. Company co-founder Stephanie Drachkovitch noted: ““To say that Alex has a gift for frankness and humour is an understatement – and she clearly comes by it honestly.”
