NBC consolidates scripted as Rabinowitz exits
US broadcaster NBC is creating a single unit to house its comedy and drama development divisions, and is saying goodbye to Tal Rabinowitz as a result.
The Peacock is switching strategy back to a combined division – as it has had on numerous occasions in the past – under Pearlena Igbokwe and Vernon Sanders.
Rabinowitz, who was head of comedy development, is leaving the broadcaster after three years, with head of current Sanders promoted to executive VP, comedy programming.
Meanwhile, head of drama development Igbokwe has been promoted to EVP, drama programming. She and Sanders now report into NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke.
Sanders is a long-serving NBC programing executive, while Igbokwe joined from Showtime two years ago. She found success with the number one new drama from the 2013-14 season, The Blacklist.
