George named Leftfield Pictures president
US unscripted specialist Leftfield Entertainment has promoted David George to become president of its subsidiary Leftfield Pictures.
In the new role, George will oversee Leftfield Pictures’ development, programming and production, and work with stablemates Loud Pictures and Outpost Entertainment.
The executive joined Leftfield in 2010, and has since executive produced shows such as History’s Pawn Stars and Bravo’s Blood Sweat & Heels. Prior to that, he was a senior exec at MTV, where he oversaw celebrity series Total Request Live.
In the new role, he will continue to report into Leftfield Entertainment CEO Brent Montgomery, who said: “David George is a masterful producer whose talents extend from the creative to the commercial – there’s no one I’d rather have next to me in the trenches.”
The promotion comes after ITV Studios acquired an 80% stake in the Leftfield business for US$360 million last month.
