News brief: Euro broadcaster ask Java to Show Me Rio
Five European broadcasters have acquired Show Me Rio, a Portuguese-produced documentary about the Brazilian city and its people.
Portugal’s TVI, TV3 in Catalonian Spain, French-speaking Belgium pubcaster RTBF, France Ô and Austria’s ORF have all bought the 1x41mins doc, which comes from producer Café Pessoa.
The film – which France’s Java Films sells in English, Portuguese and French – follows notable Rio residents such as artist Vik Muniz, model Andrea Dellal, singer Chico Buarque, designer Oskar Metsavaht and mayor Eduardo as they reveal their own experiences of the city.
Paris-based Java specialises in documentary and factual sales to international broadcasters.
