The CW sets up new kids block

The CW will launch One Magnificent Morning, a new kids block, this autumn.

The new Saturday morning strand will run for five hours and will be programmed with educational series from US distributor Litton Entertainment.

One Magnificent Morning will replace Vortexx, the block that was run by Saban Brands and had shows including Sonic X, Justice League Unlimited and Dragonball Z Kai.

Litton will provide ten shows to fill the Saturday kids block, which runs from 7am until noon. Launch titles include Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Family Edition (pictured), nature series Rock the Park, The Brady Barr Experience and Expedition Wild and vet show Calling Dr. Pol.

John Maatta, executive VP, The CW said: “We’re very excited to work with Litton Entertainment for a new Saturday morning block of live-action, educational shows that both children and parents will love.”

Independent distributor Litton already programmes Litton’s Weekend Adventure, a kids block that goes out on ABC’s stations in the US.
