Hulu snags The Bridge

Hulu has acquired The Bridge from Shine International.

The US streaming service will make the series, a US remake of hit Scandi drama The Bridge, available on its premium Hulu Plus service.

The full series will be on the subscription Hulu Plus service from June 9, with selected episodes on the free Hulu service.

Shine, which also produces the series, and Hulu have struck the deal ahead of season two starting on US cable net FX next month.

Series writer/producer Elwood Reid said: “How great is it that Hulu viewers get a chance to experience our first season and catch up on what they may have missed as we prepare to launch our second season in July.”

Hulu Plus costs US$7.99 a month.
