HBO Lat-Am cuts NBCU volume deal
HBO Latin America has agreed a multiyear movie deal with NBCUniversal.
The agreement give HBO the Hollywood studio’s features for its channels in Latin America and the Caribbean from 2015.
HBO will have first pay TV window rights and run the features on the HBO and Max channels. The deal also allows it to make the movies available on its TV everywhere service HBO Go.
“We look forward to bringing the best titles, with extended rights, to subscribers throughout the region, complementing our critically acclaimed original programming and reaffirming the important role that movies have in the pay TV industry,” said Gaston Comas, CEO of HBO Latin America Group.
HBO agreed the deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution.
