News brief: Extreme Football scores broadcast deals

New broadcasters have acquired Zodiak Kids’ animated series Extreme Football as the FIFA World Cup tournament begins today.
In the UK, the BBC’s Scottish service BBC Alba has bought the show for an early July debut, while Finland’s MTV has also bought it. Chinese VOD platforms IQiYi, Tencent and Youku Toudu will also run the series throughout the World Cup, which runs for a month.
In France, the show broadcasts on France 3. Its producers are Zodiak Kids-owned Tele Images Productions, Italy’s Maga Animation and XYZ Digital Animation in China.
