Nick greenlights more Turtles
Nickelodeon has ordered a fourth season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The new twenty-episode season of the CGI animated series will debut on Nick in the US next autumn and internationally thereafter.
Season three of the series – a reboot of the original toon, based on the Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman comic book series – starts on Nick this autumn.
“The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been a global hit, maintaining impressive numbers across the network’s ratings and our digital and consumer products platforms,” said Russell Hicks, president, content development and production, Nickelodeon
The Turtles franchise is growing for Nickelodeon owner Viacom, with its Paramount Pictures division releasing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle live-action film this August.
Viacom acquired the Turtles IP in October 2009 for US$60 million.
