Tricon picks up content from Canadian producer Fusion TV
Canada-based producer and distributor Tricon Films & Television has acquired Fusion TV’s catalogue of unscripted programming and will sell it internationally.
+++corrected version – Tricon has agreed a deal with Fusion TV the Canadian producer not Fusion the US cable network+++
Fusion is a Toronto-based indie. The Tricon deal gives the distributor international rights to a 220-hour library of unscripted programming from the cable net. Tricon will also represent upcoming unscripted shows from Fusion under the terms of the output agreement.
Highlights of the Fusion library include 78x30mins Candice Tells All (pictured), following the eponymous interior designer as she completes makeovers and Fearless in the Kitchen in which celebrity chef Christine Cushing transforms terrible cooks into savvy kitchen experts.
“Fusion has had remarkable success in creating accessible worldwide brands, such as the Candice Olson library. We are very happy to represent their extensive catalogue of popular programs, in addition to working together on launching future projects internationally,” said Jon Rutherford, senior VP, distribution & business development.
” At a time when the industry is undergoing unprecedented reinvention, we are confident that Tricon is the exact right fit; a company that has a wide breadth of experience and understanding in the factual and lifestyle market both domestically and internationally,” said Angela Jennings, president and Mark Johnston, CEO Fusion Television, in a joint statement.
