Nat Geo commissions specials out of London hub
National Geographic Channels International has greenlit ‘90s Greatest, 9/11 Rescue Cops and Rosetta: Comet Landing, a trio of specials from its international content hub in London.
Nat Geo and UK producer Twofour will make two-part show 90s Greatest, which will focus on the greatest football moments and greatest tragedies of the titular decade.
Rosetta: Comet Landing will be a copro between Nat Geo and Darlow Smithson and follows a team from the European Space Agency, as they attempt a world first: to land a spacecraft, called Rosetta, onto a speeding comet, 600 million miles from the earth.
NGCI has also ordered 9/11 Rescue Cops from Testimony Films. The one-off doc will bow in September on Nat Geo’s international channels and cover the untold stories of the heroism of the New York Police Department’s elite rescue squad on 9/11.
