Lifetime orders Dance Moms spin-off from Collins Avenue

Lifetime has ordered Raising Asia, a reality series about child prodigy Asia Monet Ray, who has previously appeared in the Lifetime reality show Dance Moms.

The new show will be made by Dance Moms producer Collins Avenue, the LA-based firm that is part of the Content Media group. Lifetime’s owner A+E will handle finished and format sales outside the US.

The show will follow eight-year-old Asia Monet Ray, who has also appeared in Lifetime’s Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition, and her larger than life family as she tries to take her career to a new level.

The series will run to 14 parts and debut in a Tuesday 10pm slot on Lifetime, starting July 29.
