Sky orders more Alan Partridge comedy
Sky Atlantic has commissioned a new season of Alan Partridge’s Mid Morning Matters and a one-off special featuring Steve Coogan’s comic character.
Alan Partridge’s Mid Morning Matters 2 will run to six half-hour episodes and be produced by UK indie Baby Cow Productions. The special, in which Partridge will “be bringing Sky customers a hard-hitting documentary special” will be 1x60mins.
Sky brought Alan Partridge back to TV in 2012 with two specials and then the Mid Morning Matters series, which originally started out as a web show. Coogan’s character first appeared in BBC radio and TV shows before getting his own BBC series. Last year a feature film starring Partridge, Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, was launched.
Lucy Lumsden, head of comedy at Sky said: “We’re thrilled that Steve wants to do more Partridge for Sky Atlantic. We look forward to seeing where Alan takes us next.”
