News brief: MasterChef heads to Brazil
Brazilian broadcaster Bandeirantes has ordered a local version of MasterChef.
Band will put the hit cooking competition show out in its primetime, with pre-production starting in the next few weeks.
Shine International distributes the show and struck the Brazilian deal. Within Latin America, the format has previously been sold to America TV in Peru, Tlese in Argentina and Channel 13 in Chile.
Diego Guebel, content director of Bandeirantes Networks, said: “This popular, international format unites two Brazilian passions: cuisine and the thrill of competition and we are looking forward to discovering new culinary talent in Brazil.”
