Trace channel secures US carriage
The Trace Sports Stars channel has struck a carriage deal with US pay TV operator Dish. The channel, part of the Modern Times Group since its acquisition of Trace earlier this year, will be carried in Dish’s International Basic Package.
The pay TV company will also add the channel to its over-the-top service, DishWorld. The agreement between Trace and Dish also includes a five-year renewal of urban music channel Trace Urban, which has been carried on the platform since 2005.
Trace Sports Stars follows the lives of sport celebrities with shows including Music Vs Sport, Battle of the Bling and Fighting Spirit.
“The addition of Trace Sport Stars to our international lineup further expands the variety of content we offer for young, multicultural viewers,” said Izabela Slowikowska, director of programming, Dish.
Laurent Dumeau, CEO Trace Sport Stars (pictured) added: “There is no other channel like Trace Sport Stars in the (US) market and we are confident it will fill a gap and help Dish deliver engaging and exciting, never-seen-before content to their subscribers”.
