FXX preps ‘record’ Simpsons marathon
US cable channel FXX is planning to run 25 seasons of The Simpsons back-to-back over 12 days.
The Fox Networks Group-owned channel will air 552 episodes in chronological order, plus The Simpsons Movie, beginning on August 21 at 10am ET/PT and concluding September 1 at 12am.
FXX claims this will be the “longest-running marathon in television history”.
The networks is also launching a new digital portal, Simpsons World, that will feature “enriched branded content” via the FXNOW on-demand service. This will launch in October.
In related news, FXX sister cable net FX has renewed Fargo, the TV series based on the Cohen Brothers’ movie, for a second season, and comedy Louie for a fifth.
