Russia readies Rivals-in-Law

Russia’s CTC Media has licensed a local version of Turkish cooking-cum-family rivalry format Rivals in Law.

The network becomes the latest to get a remake of the show, which Gloval Agency sells internationally. Channel 7 in Kazahkstan, Alfa TV Dooel in Macedonia, 1+1 in Ukraine and Abu Dhabi TV in the Middle East have all previously gone for the show.

The studio format sees a son choose a dish for his wife and mother to prepare before deciding which is the best version.

“The rivalries in every family are brought to the fore in this show, and I can’t wait to see the new characters and stories,” said Izzet Pinto, CEO of Global Agency. “We’re glad to work with CTC Media, and couldn’t ask for better partners on this project.”
