A+E poaches Star exec for Asia Pac

A+E Networks has hired Prem Kamath as deputy managing director for its Asia Pacific operations.

Kamath will join channel operator A+E from Star where he was executive VP & general manager, overseeing Channel V and Star Pravah.

Based in Singapore, A+E’s new recruit will work across commercial and strategic operations at the channel operator, reporting to regional managing director Alan Hodges.

Hodges said: ““Prem is a proven innovator with a stellar track record of taking international media brands and not only making them genre leaders but also expanding the genre in local markets.”

A+E has took full control of its Asian business in south east Asia with previous partner Astro exiting a channel joint venture between the pair. A+E’s channel brands include History, Lifetime and Crime & Investigation.
