Madden named as Reilly replacement at Fox

Fox Television Studios president David Madden has been handed the top entertainment role at the Fox broadcast network in the US.

Madden has become president, entertainment at Fox, taking over from Kevin Reilly, who announced his departure earlier this year.

Alongside Madden’s new job, Fox Broadcast Group COO Joe Earley has been promoted to the same role at Fox Television Group.

Earley, who has been with the 21^st Century Fox business for 20 years, had been touted as one potential replacement for Reilly, who has left after seven years at Fox, but he will now report into new FTG chairmen and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden as COO.

“We are unbelievably excited for Joe to join us in the Fox Television Group as we work to more closely align our network and studio businesses,” said Newman and Walden.

Madden, meanwhile, is credited with overseeing development and production of recent dramas including The Americans, the US remake of The Killing and Graceland. He also oversaw Burn Notice, The Shield and Saving Grace, and alternative shows such as The Girls Next Door and The Great Escape.
