Argonon opens Scottish base
Argonon Group and its subsidiary Remedy Productions have launched an office in Scotland to capitalise on opportunities in the territory.
Argonon Scotland and Remedy Scotland will both operate out of an office in Glasgow, with “a leading industry” figure recruited as head of both operations. This exec will report to Remedy’s chief creative officer Tom Blakeson and Argonon’s group CEO James Burstall (pictured).
Argonon, which launched in 2011 as a merger of Leopard and Remedy, said the expansion would capitalise on production, filming and talent opportunities.
It comes after Remedy chose Glasgow’s Pacific Quay Studios to film a reboot of Channel 4 quiz show Fifteen to One, and Leopard Drama decided to film children’s scripted series EVE just outside Scotland’s capital city.
“Our work on Fifteen to One and EVE has demonstrated our commitment to working in Scotland and this timely move will allow us to capitalise on the extensive talent and skills pool north of the border,” said Burstall.
“The TV market in Scotland is buoyant and this new initiative supports our long term, strategic goal of identifying new and exciting growth opportunities across the group.”
The new office means Argonon now has bases in London, New York, Vancouver and Scotland.
The announcement came as the Edinburgh International Television Festival begins this morning in Scotland.
