Ex-Galleon chief joins ITVS as kids sales boss
Steve Green, formerly of UK-based IP group Galleon Holdings, has joined ITV Studios Global Entertainment’s children’s unit and taken a senior sales role.
Green will be executive VP, kids’ content and distribution at ITVSGE, where he will be tasked with overseeing commercial, programming, and licensing and merchandising operations.
He will oversee ITVSGE’s global head of merchandise, VP of franchise marketing, consumer products division, and Giles Ridge, who is executive producer on the upcoming Thunderbirds and ITV Studios’ senior VP and director of content.
Green will report to ITVSGE managing director Maria Kyriacou, who said: “Steve is an exceptional executive who will be a fantastic leader for the business. He has incomparable experience and drive and I look forward to welcoming him to the team.”
Green is best known for his time at AIM-listed Galleon, a UK-based IP company that controlled the Sokator 442 and Super Soccer Star formats among others.
He stepped down in 2011 following a period of financial difficulty at the group and as the firm moved into the Chinese mobile market. He then established Corinthian Entertainment, a consultancy that provides operational support to the development and exploitation of multiplatform entertainment brands.
Corinthian has worked with clients including BBC Worldwide and kids publisher Egmont Books.
There are few brands as unique and potent as Thunderbirds and it is a privilege to be involved in re-introducing it to the global children’s marketplace,” said Green of his new role.
